President's Message
![]() |
I am excited about serving as President of the FVS. Our recent 2010 annual meeting at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples was the best FVS event ever. The meeting had the highest attendance, was a forum for fantastic clinical discussion, and was in a great location with perfect weather for all the weekend events. I can not tell you how much our three guest speakers from the Northeast US enjoyed the collegiality and upbeat tone of the event. They remarked what fun this society seems to have in an educational environment. No wonder our state vascular society is approaching the size of regional society annual events. I've got big shoes to fill this year after such a wonderfully orchestrated event by immediate past President Arthur Palamara. |
This year's 24th annual meeting of the FVS will be held in Palm Beach April 28 through May 1, 2011. Although, in the early planning phase, our four day meeting will include a newly created James M. Seeger vascular symposium on Thursday, in honor of our recently departed friend, vascular colleague and co-founder of this great society. This year's symposium will focus on Vascular Medicine in a session co-moderated by President-Elect Dan Kaelin and new Councilor Paul Armstrong. We will have a brief (2 hour) vascular laboratory / ultrasound review for taking the RPVI examination on Thurs as well. I have recruited and received affirmations from three guest speakers who are equally excited about attending the event and two of whom are from neighboring Southern states. Rodney A. White, MD, from Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, William ('Will') Jordan, MD, from the University of Alabama-Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama and W. Charles ('Chip') Sternbergh, MD, from the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana will be joining us this year and details of their specific lecture topics will be provided later.
Please put this year's meeting on your calendar and plan on your attendance making this another memorable FVS event.
